Preston College has today announced another year of consistently high A-Level achievement as bosses forecast its best ever year of results across the board. Preston College students have achieved exceptional A-Level and AS exam results alongside outstanding successes in a multitude of vocational and professional qualifications.

With a pass rate of 99% per cent, the college has maintained the same level of high achievement seen in previous years. The results will enable the majority of students to achieve their dreams of continuing to university study or stepping up onto the career ladder.

As in previous years, many students have exceeded predictions made on the basis of their GCSE results when they first enrolled at the College, with the majority achieving A to C grades.

Welcoming over 16,000 students each year and offering a wide range of A-Levels, vocational courses and apprenticeships, the College continues to build on its reputation as a leading provider of education and training in the area.

Commenting on this year’s results, Lis Smith, principal of Preston College, said:

“We are hugely proud to be celebrating another year of top achievements for our students who have all shown great enthusiasm, dedication and hard work on their road to success.

“We are particularly proud that many have achieved success alongside gaining additional qualifications that will stand them in good stead as they progress to university or a career in their chosen industry. This underpins our vision of becoming an ‘Enterprising College’ and our commitment to supporting learners towards outstanding qualification results such as these and also in gaining real employability skills which prepare our students for the working world.

“Today, we are also celebrating the success of many of our vocational students who have also posted fantastic results, with large numbers achieving triple distinction, or distinction star profiles.

“All of this has added to our confident forecast that this year will see our best ever success rates across the board.”
